Lodging

Timberlock's buildings are linked only by footpaths. Upon arrival, staff tote in your baggage and cars are parked at a central spot easily accessible. All have good, hotel-style firm beds, freshly made with adequate blankets, towels, soap, matches and furnishings.

Cabins with baths

Cabins are nestled along a half mile of Indian Lake's shoreline. Cabins are basic but comfortable. All have a lake view and plenty of distance between for privacy. Large cabins can accommodate up to eight. Small cabins are suitable for two or three. Both have separate bedrooms, full bath with either tub-shower or stall shower, sitting room, open deck or screen porch and excellent beds.

No Electricity

It’s true…none of our guest cabins have electricity and although it may sound impossible it is often said to be our strongest plus. Propane lights give a warm cheery light suitable for reading. Propane also fires the hot water heater. A wood stove takes the chill off on cold nights. There is so much to do that no one complains about the absence of TV.

Cabins without baths

Cabins without baths are located right at the water’s edge. Occupants share “trailbaths” which are nearby and complete with toilet, sink and hot shower. These cabins have two twin beds and small covered porches.

Meals with a view

We serve three meals a day on a covered porch open to the sun and breeze and with sweeping views of the lake. If weather turns bad, we can drop the clear curtains. Meals are plentiful, varied and healthful with traditional meat dishes, vegetarian options, and plenty of fresh salads, fruits and vegetables. Most special diets can be accommodated with advance warning. Our dining is informal and children sit at the same table with their parents. Picnic lunches are packed on request for trail, boat or car at no charge.

  •  It's kinda wierd cause I like TV, but Timberlock is my favorite place to go but it has no TV.

  •  The years keep on rushing by, but Timberlock is among the few constants in our lives!

  • We had a wonderful week with everyone! We love the chance to meet and spend time with other families in such a beautiful and relaxed setting. And it is especially nice to see how much the kids enjoy just playing outside with friends all day long! Our week at TL is always one of the highlights of our year!

  • These are things I like about Timberlock; the dog, the music, the food, the games, the sports, the woodshop, the cabins, the lake, the rope swing, the trampoline, the hikes, the sailing, the windsurfing, the magician, the kids lodge, getting launched. This is what I hate; Leaving. The end.

  • The best part about Timberlock is that you are forced to forget about work, home, commitments and just take in nature and a slower pace of life.

  • In spite of all the rain, Linda and I had a wonderful time. I really cannot conjure an improvement! You and the staff do a splendid job of delivering on the promise of your brochure. What you read is what you get!

  • We really didn’t have a chance to say goodbye, so we just wanted to tell you what a wonderful week we had with you. The young people at Timberlock are absolutely THE BEST we have ever encountered (except for our grandchildren, of course!). They obviously love being at Timberlock with the Catlin family, and it shows in how wonderfully they treat the guests.

  • Wanted to send on a short note to tell you how much our family enjoyed Timberlock. It is a beautiful and improbable place and setting…Brigadoon like…

    Luisa L.

  • I want to thank each of you for making my week at Timberlock special. Interesting and enriching conversations, laughter, bike rides, walks, hikes, just getting to know you and your children... It all makes for an amazing week for me and my family on so many different levels

    Amy S.

  • We had a wonderful vacation…bear cub, bald eagles, great skies at night, sailing and singing…maybe aching for a lifetime after climbing Snowy. What a treasure Timberlock is! And it is a secret and very effective rehab center for adults spending too much time with computers or children and teenagers spending too much time with video games, TV or cell phones…Keep up the good work!
